Electronic Controllers and Automation in Elevators

Elevators are a service tool that technology offers to humanity, and today elevators have become one of the basic tools that make people's work easier in daily life.

Elevator control systems are very detailed, hard real-time systems. They must perform various operations within the specified timing criteria. The elevator controller system must determine the current position of the elevator and process the data within the process that depends on the cabin speed. As the number of elevators or cabins to be controlled in the same building increases, the control mechanisms become more complex. Specially controlled systems have been developed to make people's elevator use effective. Local area network (LAN) or internet network has started to be used for multiple elevator and cabin control.

Basically, real-time systems are systems where tasks are performed within a defined period of time. Such systems are stated as event-driven systems. The difficulty is the delays in fulfilling all requests.

Real-time systems are controlled by electronic controllers. For this reason, microcontrollers or PLC controllers have a wide range of use in this area. The multitude of components in the system that need to be controlled and the time constraints required for some applications encourage the use of real-time operating systems on such systems.
