Chair Stair Lift Speed

Chair Stair Lift Speed

Most people who need a stair lift wonder about the speed of these elevators. Is the stair lift as slow or fast as they think?

In fact, the speed of a seated stair lift is almost the same as the speed of other types of home lifts. Standard type home lifts, vertical homelift type elevators cannot exceed 0.15 cm/sec according to Turkish law. This speed is also the case according to most European and American laws. However, according to Austrian law, products can be produced at an elevator speed of 0.30 cm/sec.

In this case, if a vertically operating elevator moves to the stop of the other floor at a height of 3 meters, it will theoretically complete the 300 cm distance it travels in 20 seconds. However, in practice, this will change; because the elevator will not reach 15 cm speed as soon as the button is pressed. It will first control itself and then move at a slow speed, which is necessary in order not to shake the passenger. Then it will reach 15 cm speed and slow down again before reaching the stop and then stop. The duration of all these processes will definitely be more than 20 seconds.

According to the law, the maximum speed of a seated stair lift can be 13 cm/sec. In other words, a speed of 2 cm, almost the same as the speed of a vertical lift, theoretically causes a total delay of 3 seconds; as you can see, there is not much difference in the two lifts covering the same distance.

As a result, the maximum speed of vertical type home lifts is 15 cm/sec and the speed of a seated stair lift is 13 cm/sec. In other words, the speed of 9 m/min home lifts is the speed of 7.8 m/min stair lifts.

These types of lifts should not be confused with classic type passenger lifts. Classic type lifts contain different systems and can move faster, but the lift models we offer you are produced according to the "disabled lifts" regulation; a disabled person can use this lift at any time and therefore needs to move slower. Authorities around the world have done detailed research on this subject and have concluded that the speeds should be at these levels. We do not need to comment on these speeds.

Best regards.
